Fresh Out of the Oven, Made with Love

Two years ago I was pregnant and homebound. A few of my friends were posting pictures of these beautiful loaves of bread they were making. Once upon a time I too LOVED to bake, and thought… let’s try. I dove into sourdough head first. It consumed my thoughts. I made my own starter and she was a beaut.

I started baking bread and while it always tasted good, it never turned out “just right.” In April 2025 we sold our home and bought a new one. I dehydrated some of my starter and back-burnered the dough for a while.

Flash forward to November 2025. We’re settled in the house. My mind is feeling happy and my hands are ready to do something. I rehydrated the starter, poured my effort into mastering the sourdough loaf, tweaked a few things and BAM—like a bomb I was turning out bread that looked and tasted amazing! I even began doing inclusions and those too were great.

I started feeling confident enough to share what I was baking. I’d take loaves to family and my office. Everyone seemed to like it and a few started offering to pay. Wait… pay? NO! Never! But wait… maybe?! Can this be something more? I’m not sure where this is going. I’m hoping for the best, but I’m also ok if this is something beyond me. But I’m going to give it a try and see.
